When I’m looking at my own feet.
The view only changes when I look out. And up.
But again I find myself staring at my shoelaces. Downcast. In nearly every sense of the word.
My very brave husband mentions I don’t seem to be the same. Not as energetic. Not as friendly. Not, well, just not me. And I know he’s not wrong.
It’s hard to see other people when you forget to look out. And up.
Yes, my feet are dusty on what feels like the same old path. The mountain I’ve circled before (and may have to traverse again) leaves blisters on my heart as well as my heels. My laces are worn and each step looks pretty much like the last. Am I making any progress here?
The view only changes if I choose to look out. And up.
Slowly I’m shifting my gaze.
p.s. it turns out, that when I look out … and up … this is what I see: http://ifoundbeauty.wordpress.com/beths-1000/
