Five Minute Friday: Here
3August 3, 2012 by Beth Hess
No, wait. I got it.
Ughhh … I am so over this. Here, it’s yours.
I don’t like the way you’re holding it. Can I have it back?
Too heavy. Too hard. Not mine to drag behind me anyway. Here, I give up.
Over and over I pull my hands from the wheel of control in my life. I remember, momentarily, to float. Only to grab it back and move things as frantically as I know. It must look just flat ridiculous to watch me travel this road, moving this way, then that. Trying to drive from the passenger seat.
So here I am again. Laying it down. Letting go.
Here, Lord. Here.

Dropping in from Five Minute Friday. Really liked your take on “here.” I too struggle with letting go of control, and now you’ve given me imagery to think on when I’m pulling and tugging for my own way! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by Sherrey! I always do better with imagery that simplifies what we try to make so complicated.
